Chile flags at the top of the city
typical Peruvian woman spinning yarn while walkingwow, was my last post really in September? Sorry to those of you who check here regularly! We've had a pretty busy time in the last few months - 2 weeks in Chile/Peru, and most recently, I went in a Xmas Craft show. Our holiday was good, fun to be in Santiago again, and to see our friends. Our last visit was over 2 years ago, and it was long enough to make the city not feel so familiar and desirable anymore, and within minutes of arriving, I was glad we didn't still live there! (of course if we did, I would be used to it all and prob. still love it) It wasn't really a relaxing holiday.....at all. I think the kids would rather have been at home. Too much time in the hotel room with not enough to do, so we all went a bit stir crazy from time to time. We tried to take them to the playground down the road at much as possible, which really wasn't that much. We were pretty busy doing other things. Thank goodness mom and dad came down to help out. Troy was working every day, and then went away to a mine for a couple of nights, so it would've been pretty lame on my own. We had one day at the beach which was a definite highlight - perfect warm weather, good company, the kids LOVE the beach and had a blast. Too bad the coast is 1.5 hrs. away from Santiago, we would've gone more than once. Not to make the trip sound negative! We did have a great time, and so glad we went.Peru was great, it was so fun to visit our good friend's the W's, in Cajamarca, to finally be in their house and see where they live. They've got a great spot, lovely thermal pool, and the kids had so much fun together. The only downside was that we only had 2 1/2 days there, not nearly enough time!
It was good to get back home again, and a week later, had finally finished laundry, and got everything from the bags put away. Maybe more than a week......:)

What a fun trip! My kids are going crazy over the W's pool. FUN! I'm glad you live in N. America, too. :)
