The 2010 Winter Olympics are now just a sweet memory. We had such a blast with them being in our city! What an amazing experience, even though we didn't get to any sports events. The feeling here was so festive and happy and red and white. Wow, we (canadians) really went all out to show our love for our country and athletes! We watched the events all day, every day online and went downtown twice to take it all in. Even the kids were really interested in the events, and especially all the medals won. I wonder what they will remember about that time, years down the road? I'm going to put a scrapbook together of photos and memorabilia, and also a scrapbook of newspaper articles.
It started with the torch run through our town on Feb. 9th, and ended with our men's hockey gold medal win as the last event of the Olympics! Pretty exciting that that 14th gold for Canada broke the record number of golds won at any Olympics, by any country! We DID own the podium :)
fun to take the skytrain into the city!
much to the envy of other kids they passed by!

Hi Leah, you're right, it was pretty special to have been here during our Olympics. Very cool to see the Canadian spirit so strong and to see the kids take such an interest in it all.
