on one of my visits to Value Village, I spotted this nurses shirt and couldn't resist the cute squirrel/acorn/tree print on it, even though I wasn't in love with the color. I thought I could make something cute from it. On a whim the other day, I decided to whip up a skirt for Lily. and whip up I did. All I needed to do was cut off the bottom of the shirt to the length I wanted the skirt, sew up the sides which had slits, and make an elastic casing for the waistband. I WAS going to sew on a piece of pink fabric along the bottom to make it cuter, but opted for the ribbon which was way simpler. The shirt had pockets on them, but they were too baggy once the skirt was gathered, so I sewed a couple of pleats on each one, and that solved the problem. Lily loves her 20 minute skirt! So what do you think, jb?!

Ha ha, sure is cuter as a skirt than a uniform! Much cuter for a 5 year old than a 55 yr old... nice job!
I will scour the uniform section next time i am at VV, maybe I will find a garden gnome print...jb
