I've been liking all the different deer heads seen on the net in the last couple of years - glossy white, cardboard, yarn, etc. Back in the summer I got my hands on this sweet moose head (first photo), but didn't buy it. Of course it was snapped up quickly and I missed my chance. So when I saw this brown/bronze deer head recently, I bought it right away, with visions of spray-painting it glossy white!
below is the process:
cardboard nailed to the fence, deer placed on nail
I love those fun bright colours on the cardboard,
used on little shelves for the kids' rooms.
many layers of paint, careful not to get any drips
this is as good as it gets
it is so textured, I couldn't completely whiten it
and how it looks on my wall!
further away, you can see it's not very big
deerhead in background
table set for thanksgiving
here is the deer that wanders the neighbourhood
eating the tops of the yummy plants

Great job Leah! Very creative as always. I think you need the matching little hooks from Anthropologie. Check them out online! - Sherri

I forgot to mention that I love the table settings, the pears with the cards are SO fantastic
