The words "weeks 11 & 12" don't mean much to most people, but to us,
it means those 2 glorious weeks in March in Cabo San Lucas, at my parent's time share.
We are very fortunate to be able to share those weeks with them,
which we seem to do frequently!
This is what we love about it:
our beach.
great for playing in the sand and sea. the water is cold,
but once you're in, it's wonderful!
there's never a boring moment on this beach, with groups of people
strolling by at the water's edge in various states of dress,
and vendors selling everything from woven baskets,
ceramic whistles, painted plates, bracelets and jewelry, sarongs and dresses,
and t-shirts that make you want to cover your kid's eyes!
eating delicious mexican food.
This is one of our favourite restaurants, Pancho's. it has great ambience and great food.
The mariachi duos or trios who stroll around from restaurant to restaurant are entertaining,
and usually very talented. One lone boy with a guitar played a song for us, and strummed one unrecognizable chord the entire time and sang off-key.
It was so horrible, that we just had to be honest tell him it wasn't good.
sorry kid.
And oh, the tortilla soup.
That's my very favourite, and I order it most nights to get my fill of it for another year.
this view from our pool.
With bigger, independent kids now, I got to spend a lot of time
horizontal on the pool chairs reading a book,
and soaking up the sun on my sun-deprived canadian body!
another favourite restaurant, strangely named the Office.
A lovely stroll down our beach to get here,
delicious breakfasts and smoothies, sitting with toes in the sand.
spending time with Mom and Dad,
Grandma and Grandpa is much enjoyed and cherished!
2 for 1 smoothies around the pool
our favourite is the mango/banana
being there with your cousin!
someone to go boogie boarding with
reading in the pool. bliss.
mangos on a stick!
the pacific side of town, a place we simply call "the rocks"
We've been coming over here at sunset time for many years,
and I still marvel at the beauty and majesty of the rocks and ocean
sisters!
going on a boat ride with our friend Alde.
seeing all the same landmarks "scooby doo" rock, "god's finger", witches profile, etc.
there's no end to resemblances one can see in the rocks.
he view of the arch and rocks out at Land's End is spectacular every time.
We were lucky to see and follow around a humpback whale this year!
mango on a stick guy!
He walks the beach with this stand and sets it up here and there
to peel and slice ripe, juicy mangos dripping in lime juice.
divine!
the new kids club!
It was great for the afternoons, after the kids had been outside in the sun all morning,
and were ready to go inside and do a fun craft or activity.
Lots of fun things to do in there,
and it would give us parents an hour or two of free time.
and it would give us parents an hour or two of free time.
having your cousins there doubles the fun!
rippin' it up on the wave runner!
I hadn't ridden one for many years. It was super fun to do it again.
atv'ing through winding trails in the desert and onto the dunes
right on the sparkling blue ocean.
SO, SO fun to do that again after many years also.
I let my inner tomboy out that day!
lots and lots of doing this :)
