i love this little tradition we started in 2006, of taking a photo of the kids dressed in red and white for Canada day, and emailing it to lots of friends and family. it's fun knowing that people look forward to seeing it every year. it's even more fun looking at the photos in sequence and seeing how the kids have grown over the years. they make me laugh too! Lily's red belt has been used many times, part of the tradition I guess!
this is the first year in our new house, and I basically found the only shady spot in the yard. looks like a good spot.
I took the photos on June 27th, one of our rare sunny days at the time! I knew rain was in the forecast for the next few days, so it had to be that day. I very quickly threw outfits together in the late afternoon, and went as far as to cut a strip of red and white striped fabric, ruffle it and try to make a flower. well, it was a canvas and didn't ruffle as planned! As in, the thread broke. So I ended up wrapping it around Lily's head instead with a white elastic headband on top! good enough, and it added a fun accessory. All the while, I was cooking dinner, so it was very rushed, but we got a few good ones out of the 90 photos I took :)
brotherly love!
what is that you're holding Ruby? oh, it's a garden gnome
give peace a chance
don't give me bunny ears!
and the winners are......
and.... can't resist one from days gone by!
